American Quebec

Description

In the Revolutionary War, the Americans had one thing the British didn’t; the element of surprise. Guerilla fighting ravaged the colonies, and ended up with the Americans solidly gaining another win in Quebec. Soon after that, they managed to retake New York by flanking from all sides, and moved their way down the countryside by 1779. In 1780, the UK signed a treaty, freeing the United States of America. The remaining loyalists fled to Newfoundland and the lands of the Hudson Bay Company.

As time went on, both the US and Britain had increasingly similar desires. Expansion became key, with the Americans purchasing Louisiana from the Spanish in 1796. They supported the radical new French republican regime, and even sent in ammunitions to help the democratic empire expand. France ended up holding land in all parts of the continent, eventually releasing much of it into democratic puppet states. The UK began to start colonies in Australia and South Africa, along with increasingly expanding their territories in India and West Africa. Before long, there were conflicts on who owned what. America claimed Liberia and the Gold Coast to be theirs, while the UK wanted the entirety of interior Africa. Things escalated, and the Americans declared war on the British in 1845. This only ended up with the UK being humiliated twice in one century.

They were forced to give the US the Oregon Country and Liberia, turning the Americans power-hungry and expansionist. America held on to the belief of them being the saviors of North America at this point (they did win two wars against Europe, after all), and declared war on Mexico to prove it. A civil war helped America a bit, and led to the North American country being solidly under their hegemony. On the opposite side of the world, the UK was ripping up Africa and India, rapidly increasing their claims to compete. They weren’t able to hold any of their peaceful conquests for long, so they resorted to genocidal tactics simply to hold the land.

Eventually, the American-French alliance got tired of all this genocide and lack of democracy. In 1898, a major war broke out, originating in Europe but spreading to the edges of the world. The Great War only lasted for four years, but still had major consequences on the nations of Earth. The UK was forced to give up Hanover, as well as their South-West Africa and Siam colonies. This didn’t change too much, but it did lead many nations in Eastern Europe to bind together, forming a power unlike any in that part of the continent before. Sadly, the punishment given from the US to Britain wasn’t nearly harsh enough, and the Empire is ready to have another war.
